This day would not have been complete without the energy and enthusiasm of our Papergirl volunteers (aka Gifterventionists) and the 136 artists who submitted work that they put their time, love and consideration into making and sharing. We were kept safe with helmets that were graciously donated by Prohab and supplied with bicycles for some of our participants who would not have made it otherwise by Reckless in Yaletown. Take a look at some of the photos we've posted from this event on our Facebook page.
On a sunny Saturday afternoon, our 23 Papergirl cyclists hit the seawall with bundles and rolls of artwork and big smiles on their faces. We had nearly 360 rolls to give, so you can imagine the number of people who were out enjoying the day that were pleasantly surprised by our troop on wheels! Highlights of the ride included an early spill of artwork into the hands of a stagette party near the Plaza of Nations and the great surprise of two gentlemen in the middle of their boat building course along the seawall as they received prints and watercolours. We also shared a photo op with a very lucky wedding party, surprised the staff at Opus Art Supplies with a rolled gift and met loads of wonderful people from Vancouver and beyond on Granville Island. If you were one of our lucky recipients of rolled or bundled artwork, please tell us about your experience and let us know where the artwork now calls home! Post your photos to our Facebook page or tweet us, and don't forget to contact and thank your artist to complete the circle of gratitude.
