I had no idea Papergirl Vancouver was so multifaceted, until I made it out to my first volunteers meeting and saw the buzz of work that goes into making things happen. Whatever your skill set, there’s a spot for you at Papergirl - from printmaking to data entry...public outreach to cycling, the project family includes an incredible range of people and is always welcoming fresh faces.
Some of my favourite mini-projects and events this year were the Artist Interview Studio Visit series (read about the most recent visit in the blog below), the printmaking workshops, the exhibition set-up party and the amazing turn out to the exhibition’s opening night. As a volunteer the experience is just as exciting as that of the unsuspecting recipient gifted with art on our annual Ride-Out, or the artists whose works are shared with an entirely new community of people.
One of the best parts of the Papergirl experience, is that it is unique for everyone it reaches. With bicycles, artistic savvy and a team of enthusiastic people, it reaches incredible distances. Tell us how you stumbled upon Papergirl Vancouver, we would love to hear your stories! Share it all on our Twitter feed, Facebook page or in a good old fashioned email to [email protected]. We can’t wait to hear from you!
