Inspired by art crawls, we thought it'd be fun to take a virtual look inside the homes of some of our team members to see what art they have surrounding them. We're hoping to spark some thoughts about how art is different to every person, as well as reflect upon what we have chosen to hang on our walls or display on a shelf -- and why. Art has the amazing capacity to be whatever a person decides it is, whether it is a painting by a famous artist or a drawing by your child or a found photograph. We hope you enjoy these glimpses into the art that we treasure and take comfort in!
Our fifth art tour is brought to you by Lillienne, our Social Media Wizard.
I'm a girl who breathes books. My shelves are lined with them. Stacking books in precarious piles is my profession. So I've never made much space for visual art in my home until now - seeing all the other Papergirls' beautiful homes has me excited about all the possibilities when I move in September. Since relocating to Vancouver in 2007, I've moved almost every year. The art I choose is usually related to my first passion of words - engraved rock paperweights, word art, inspirational messages tucked between my books - or to the places I've visited. More often, though, I keep the presents that friends gift me over the years. It's good to have these within view when the people who gave them are many time zones away.
