Wondering how to submit? It is really easy!
Firstly, just go to our submission page here, or mouse over the “Get Involved” link at the top of the page and click on “Submit Your Work”. Once there you can follow the directions on how to submit! Please don’t forget to fill out the included submission form so we can properly share your work on our contributing artist page and social media outlets like Flickr, upon which we document every piece of work we receive. After filling out your submission form, you can either deliver your work(s) in person at the Roundhouse or Place des Arts, or of course mail it to us, whatever is more convenient for you.
You will also see the guidelines for types of work you are able to submit. Although we try to be as inclusive as possible, we do have some minor parameters around form and content. It goes into more detail on the submissions page but I will just reiterate them briefly here. You can submit as many of your own originals or prints as you desire but depending on the number of submissions we receive, we might not be able to exhibit all of them. Also, keep in mind that we will be rolling them up for cyclists’ ease of delivery, as such the material should be flexible and media must be dry and fixed. Of course this is because we would not want to cause any harm to your work! Finally, please take care to avoid any sort of derogatory or slanderous content that could possibly offend the unknown recipient.
We encourage you to sign your work and include any means of contacting you, such as your website or twitter! After all, the stranger who is gifted your work may wish to contact you and the Share Art movement loves to get deserving artists’ names out there! Of course if you wish to uphold a certain air of mystery and remain anonymous, feel free you enigma you.
Papergirl is endlessly excited and grateful for all of the submitted work! We believe art is made more accessible and inclusive by removing the bounds of the commercial art market, gifting art rather than selling it, and therefore abolishes its strict aesthetic approach and elitist value system. We are happy to connect with, inspire and share your creative sides, whether you are a professional, a habitual doodler, a hobbyist or a complete amateur, so please don’t be wracked with insecurity and get submitting before time runs out!
Thanks for reading and stay inspired,
