First off, thank you, mom, for putting up with me for nine months while I rolled around and kicked inside you, and for bringing me into this beautiful world. You were the first individual in my life who exposed me to art and its many facets of expression, from signing me up for my first art class, to taking me to countless art galleries around the world. Throughout my life, you have taught me so many invaluable lessons, lessons which I hope to carry with me as I begin to carve my own path. Thank you, mom, for teaching me:
How to say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’.
To work hard and play hard.
To think for myself.
To not be afraid to smile, and not be afraid to cry.
To look both ways before I cross the street.
That there is no such thing as being perfect.
Mom, you are amazing, and I love you. I can only hope you feel as proud to have me as a daughter as I do to have you as a mother.
Happy Mother’s Day, Mothers! We love you :)
