In the mean time, papergirl is not only getting 'geared' up for our exhibition, but also the ride out and delivery of all of your gifted works. Personally, I am equally excited for each part. And, as such, I have been carousing the web looking for some interesting work to keep me occupied whilst I wait with bated breath for upcoming events. Of course we are all about sharing here at Papergirl, so I figured I would share the fruit of my interest with all of you.
Today's tidbit is by an artist from Belarus named Oleg Tchoubakov. I stumbled across his work purely by accident and was immediately captured by its inherent whimsy. In particular, I found that his 'Velo' collection rather suited my taste for bicycle (or velocipede) artwork. Although I doubt anyone on our ride out will look quite so fantastical, we can all imagine that in spirit, the ethereal creatures riding antique and unusual looking bicycles represent us as papergirls and boys. If you would like to know more about Oleg Tchoubakov, head over to his website here and check out some of his other works, news or biography. And now, without further ado, a gallery of some of my personal favourites: (all images via)
Keep your awesome submissions coming and get excited for our upcoming happenings. The exhibition's opening night is on August 13th from 6pm-9pm and we would love to see you there! And of course keep your eyes peeled for our fleet of ride out volunteers in a mysterious location on the 24th!
Have a great week and stay inspired,
