GRANT WRITER/FUNDRAISER
Papergirl Vancouver is an inclusive, non-commercial art project that brings people together in celebration of art and community in an unconventional way: through the spirit of altruism.
In this annual project, artists of all ages and abilities are invited to donate their work to a non-juried exhibition. Afterward, the artwork is rolled into bundles and is distributed by a team of cyclists (in the style of the American paperboy) to anyone they meet along specific bike routes around Vancouver.
We are looking for team members for 2014! In joining our dynamic member of dedicated volunteers you will help bring Papergirl: Art of Giving Art to the people of Vancouver.

Each volunteer is required to:
- Attend our Team Kick off meeting March 13th
- Be able to commit 5-10 volunteer hours from March 13-August 8th 2014
- Attend a monthly team meeting and report back to the team on their progress
- Use our online project management system. We will train you on this at our kick off meeting
- Be able to attend 3 of the 5 core events in July. We will discuss this at our team kick off meeting
Grant Writer & Fundraiser Role Description:
Tasks and duties
- Research potential funding options within the realms of community development, sustainability and the arts.
- Research potential partnerships with relevant local foundations.
- Apply for local and provincial grants with collaborative input from the team.
- Assist in report writing in the event of successful grant funding.
Deliverables
- Develop a grant funding strategy in collaboration with Project Coordinator and Team Leaders.
- Complete application to min of 3 potential funders.
- Keep fund applications organized in the dropbox and provide final report on which we applied to and the final outcome.
- Develop a timeline for funding applications to be used in future years.
Skills and Experience
- Excellent professional writing and research skills.
- Knowledge of the grant process and an understanding of requirements.
- Work well within a team
- Understanding and interest in the non-profit sector.
- Self motivation and ability to work well independently
- Interested in progressive and unique acts of community engaged art
- Desire to be a part of a rapidly growing dynamic team of volunteers
